safety first!
always best when dying something to where a mask the dye powder is not very nice if it gets in the lungs!
Dying and winding
so here is the bit I can't do in the shop front, the dying and winding of the warp.
As you can see I've gone for nice bright colours I think everyone needs cheering up in this miserable weather! I've wound the warp so it looks a little like a rainbow but with streaks of the different colours in each section to mix it up a bit.

The next exhibition and the 1st weave piece in a year!
Really looking forward to seeing everyone's work - I think it will be a really varied exhibition .
My piece is a response to the life of Mary Branker OBE a vet, one of the 1st woman in that field. I have used natural yarns and animlal fibres including camal hair. I have also used stainless steel to show her strength in her work. The piece also includes a frog as she collected them and it's one of my lasting memories of her!
The piece is also a lose patchwork to symbolise all the different elements of her working and home life.
Hope that if you are in Swindon you can come and see the exhibition.
