A few more Pictures

This is my current project,
as I have no loom at the moment
I'm looking back through all my samples from previous warps,
to find other uses for them.

As I have a lot from my jelly fish project (that I can't use for anything else!)
I thought I'd make a collection of brooches to sell at the
Swindon Artsite Hand Made Market.
on 7th Nov 11am - 4pm
I hope you Like them!

Inspiration

its hard to get going again without my loom for inspiration! But as the patchwork has been well received I hope to try and start with that, I just need to get the right look .......
To Help I'm off to Origin tomorrow, in the hope that some of the creative spirit and talent will rub off!

patchwork

I've strayed away from the weaving on this one!
After finding an overlocker and a load of old fabric at Oxfam, I decided to make a patchwork quilt for my parents 30th wedding anniversary. For their wedding Mum and Dad had pink and cream flowers and my Dad had a brown suit so I tried to use those colours mainly (but couldn't resist a few of the other fabrics in the bag!).
Its the 1st thing I've made like this and I very much enjoyed doing it and Mum and Dad seemed to like it too, so I may experiment some more watch this space ..........

New Works

Well the exhibition is over and it went well, not loads of people but the ones that came were very interested in the work and left us lovely comments!
I now have a little time for some new work which is exciting. A week spent looking at your old work and in the company of other creatives can be quite inspiring. Chatting about the work and where to go with it etc. I am now weaving the 1st of hopefully a series of larger pieces, using a really simple plain weave draft and a dip dyed wool warp. hopefully interesting things will happen to the wool once the tension is taken off!
